Perinatal Education
We provide perinatal and neonatal outreach education and consultation services, simulation/skills training, and other requested services at no cost to our referring hospitals and providers.

Training and Services Offered

• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Classes (2-day training class) 
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Classes (1-day training class) 
• OB Emergencies Course (½ day course covering postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, cord prolapse, maternal seizure, uterine rupture, normal vaginal delivery)
• Breastfeeding / Skin to Skin / Kangaroo Care
• Resolving Through Sharing (provide education and guidance on fetal demises and care of infant postmortem) 
• Maternal Transport Case Reviews
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider Courses (½-day course) 
• STABLE Full Provider Courses (1-day course)
• STABLE Physician Short Course (½-day course) 
• NICU Case Reviews
• Eat, Sleep, Console Training
• Neonatal Skills/Simulations (½-day course covering intubation, LMA placement, emergency UVC placement, PIV insertion, newborn resuscitation, management of short-term CPAP, etc.)
• Neonate in the Emergency Department Courses (½-day mixed didactic and hands-on course designed for ED providers and staff covering basic newborn physiology, initial management strategies to improve outcomes, case reviews, and skills practice)

Educational Resources

• Newborn Nursery Hypoglycemia Algorithm
• NL EMMC Antibiotic dosing for newborns less than 7 days
• NL EMMC Prostaglandin E1 dosing for newborns
• Placement of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) in a newborn by a registered nurse for resuscitation
