Imagine going to work each day knowing you’re making a real difference in the lives of patients and families. Imagine a rewarding career, with thorough training, competitive pay, and full benefits. Interested in a new career as a CNA? This is for you.
We’re a good fit
Certified nursing assistants (CNA) are in high demand and have many roles and responsibilities at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. CNAs have the choice of working in a variety of units and shifts throughout the hospital. Whatever your interests may be, you’re likely to find an area that works with your strengths.
Where to start
Become a Certified Nursing Assistant through a paid apprenticeship program at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. This 40 hour per week, paid position consists of 24 to 32 hours of class and clinical experience with the remaining hours spent working as a Patient Experience Aide on one of the many inpatient nursing units. If you are accepted in the program, you will be a fulltime employee while earning your CNA certificate.
-
Each class of the apprenticeship program is offered every 7 weeks.
-
All applicants must participate in a pre-admission interview, pass pre-employment background check, take a CASAS test obtaining a 240 or higher, be willing to work a four-day work week while in training, and commit to working at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for three years post training.
