Healthy Super Bowl Snacks

Super Bowl LVIII is Sunday and that means game day foods! Nutrition Specialist Onycha Bell has a guilt-free guacamole and a popping with flavor popcorn recipe for your spread this year.

Guilt-free Guacamole



  • 2-3 Ripened Avocados
  • Diced Cherry Tomatoes
  • Cumin (Powder)
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt
  • Cilantro (dried or fresh - chopped)
  • Pineapple Salsa (or other favorite type of salsa) - optional
  1. Cut avocados in half and remove the pit
  2. Scoop avocado out into a bowl with a spoon and lightly mash the avocados together with the spoon 
  3. Sprinkle cumin, garlic powder, salt, and cilantro (to taste) over the avocados and mix in
  4. Add a few spoonfuls of salsa into the bowl (to taste) and mix together
  5. Fold in diced cherry tomatoes or sprinkle over top


Popping with Flavor Popcorn



  • Popcorn kernels
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Dill Weed
  • Nutritional Yeast
  1. Cook popcorn according to instructions listed on the label
  2. Pour cooked popcorn into large bowl
  3. Drizzle olive oil over cooked popcorn
  4. Sprinkle salt, dill weed and nutritional yeast over cooked popcorn (to taste)
  5. Use a large spoon or spatula to mix ingredients throughout the popcorn
