Maine Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
The Maine Area Health Education Center Network enhances the quality of and access to health care among underserved populations.
We at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, as the Northern AHEC Center, provide rural, interprofessional, community-based clinical training experiences for health professions students, encourage Maine youth and mid-careers, support practicing health professionals with continuing education, and promote population and public health approaches to addressing current and emerging health issues.
The Northern Maine AHEC territory is comprised of Aroostook, Penobscot, and Piscataquis Counties.
