Community Food Distribution Event a Success

Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital was pleased to partner with Danforth’s Down Home Supermarket, Walpole Outdoors, and the Good Shepherd Food Bank to offer a community mobile food distribution event on November 15. We distributed 211 bags filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, chickens, and various non-perishable items. Any extra food items left over were donated to the food pantry at MSAD 53, Maine Central Institute for their free community Thanksgiving meal, and Pittsfield Food Cupboard. Staff volunteers from Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Danforth’s, and Walpole helped pack the bags and load the food into recipients’ cars, and we’d like to thank those volunteers for their time, energy and community collaboration! 

We received wonderful feedback from the community members that participated in the event. Many were grateful for what they received, especially with the holidays approaching.
