Northern Light Mercy Hospital adds two new providers to growing orthopedic surgery team

Northern Light Mercy Hospital has announced that Benjamin Huffard, MD and Alison Chabot, PA-C have joined
Northern Light Mercy Orthopedics. They join orthopedic surgeons Drs. Stephen Rodrigue, Sarah Shubert, and Joseph Young at
Mercy’s orthopedic practice in Falmouth.
Benjamin Huffard, MD
Dr. Benjamin Huffard is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and hip. His expertise includes sports medicine and fracture care, and he has been published for his work on Achilles tendon ruptures and arthroscopic shoulder treatment.
Dr. Huffard completed his undergraduate degree at Lehigh University, and his post-baccalaureate premedical program at Yale University. He received his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and followed with an internship in general surgery at New York Hospital. Dr. Huffard then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He also did a fellowship in sports medicine in Vail, Colorado.
Dr. Huffard is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Alison Chabot, PA-C
While Ali grew up in New England, she ended up in Pennsylvania for high school. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University and later conducted research at the University of Florida and Johns Hopkins University.
After working and traveling for a few years, Ali went to PA school at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Since then, her focus has been on orthopedics. Prior to joining Mercy Hospital, Ali worked in orthopedic trauma at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for three years before moving back home to Maine where she spent 14 years at OA, which is now Spectrum Orthopaedics, specializing in sports medicine with Dr. Huffard.
