Northern Light CA Dean Hospital Named a Top 20 Hospital for Quality
Date: 06/12/2023
Northern Light CA Dean Hospital was recently awarded one of the nation’s most prestigious rural healthcare recognitions: a Top 20 Award for Quality among critical access hospitals in the United States.
CA Dean Hospital, like the other top 20 hospitals, achieved high ranks in the Chartis Center for Rural Health scores for quality. The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). CA Dean Hospital will receive the award at the NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Mo.
“CA Dean is a national leader in quality because it has several unique attributes,” says Marie Vienneau, FACHE, president. “Our small size enables every employee to put patients first. Many of our employees have years of experience at the hospital, which builds trust and encourages communication. And, despite our small size, we have access to the most advanced digital tools because we’re a member of a larger system, Northern Light Health.”
The Top 20 Award for Quality comes on the heels of national recognition for CA Dean’s Emergency Department Team. In January,
“I’m proud of the efforts of the practitioners and staff who have contributed to our hospital achieving these awards,” adds Vienneau. “Our employees are the reason why our patients can count on CA Dean for high quality care. These awards reinforce that we have something unique at CA Dean, and what’s most special about CA Dean is our team.”
CA Dean’s staff have provided award-winning care despite caring for patients in a hospital that has nearly reached the end of its life. In February 2024, a new hospital, the Buck Family Building, will open on the CA Dean campus. The new hospital will be one of the most modern critical access hospitals in the Northeast.
