How's your Heart?
Join us - and “Be the Heart of Our Community" with Northern Light Health this American Heart Month!
What does it mean to be the “Heart of Our Community?” As Mainers, we know the difference we can make when we come together with a bit of moxie and a shared sense of purpose. That is why we invite you—to the extent you’re able—to take meaningful steps, both literally and figuratively, toward building heart-healthy habits in your own life. At the same time, we encourage you to reach out to friends, neighbors, and loved ones, checking in and inspiring them to prioritize their heart health, too. Together, we can strengthen not only our hearts, but the very heart of our community.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the US, and rural communities often face unique challenges, from limited access to care to longer travel times in emergencies. That’s why we’re committed to bringing heart health closer to you through education, prevention, and care that meets you right where you are.
Whether it’s knowing the signs of a heart attack, getting your blood pressure checked, or simply taking a walk with a friend, every small act strengthens the heart of our community and keeps your own heart beating strong.
