Ice that melts your heart

There is a guy who lives in a very, very cold place – the Arctic part of Sweden where ice is an ever-replenishing resource. So he just went with it.

A musician, Tim Linhart used this ice to build an entire orchestra of instruments -- real instruments that could be played as long as the musicians’ body heat didn’t melt them. To fix the situation, this inventor of “Ice Music” built a specially designed igloo-style concert hall with two domes; one for letting out the heat from the audience, another for keeping the cold in.

What drives this sort of kooky passion? For Tim it has something to do with magic and making the unbelievable happen. As he says, “The definition of magic for me is ‘unbelievable but happening.’” The awe this creation inspires does something for the spirit. See for yourself. It’s the sort of thing you have to see to believe.

Here’s to the presence of magic, even in the coldest of places. It will melt your heart.
