Animation usually bugs me, so it was surprising to discover how fond I’ve grown of the little cartoon people demonstrating the exercises
EveryDay Health sends me now and again. These little characters are so reassuringly predictable as they tirelessly repeat the same move over and over again in perfect form until you get it and move on. They are so likeable in their ordinariness. And they wear such good colors. It’s all very pleasing to the eye. Needless to say, I always scroll the entire way through the post to see what those cartoon people are up in the new set. Now you can, too, because I’ve been saving them up just for you:

I hope you’ll feel a fondness for those little exercisers, too. Perhaps even have a favorite. And find some new favorite moves. For me it’s the Russian Twist and the Wood Chop. I don’t know why. They just feel fun to me. Or maybe it’s because they both wring out your middle in a way that feels instantly impactful while not being a misery in the way anything requiring you to lay on your back and lift your head and legs off the ground is. For me, anyway.
So here’s a challenge for you: find and execute one new move from this collection. You just might find the (animated) workout partner you never knew you needed!
Rock on,
E
