Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter Services (PICC)

Patients that need short-term IV treatments may receive a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter at Northern Light Health. During the non-surgical procedure, a thin, flexible tube is inserted into a large arm vein. The site allows providers to conveniently access blood draws and administer IV medication over weeks or a few months. PICC lines are more comfortable for patients, eliminating the need for additional needle sticks and reducing complications that can arise from repeated punctures.
