Outpatient Treatment Referrals for COVID-19 Positive Patients

Oral anti-viral treatments for COVID-19 are highly preferred. Monoclonal antibody access is limited at this time, only refer patients that cannot take Paxlovid and/or are not good candidates for Molnupiravir.

 Referring Providers

  • Monoclonal antibodies for treatment of COVID-19 have been deauthorized by the FDA and are no longer available for use.
  • Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) is recommended first-line therapy for ALL patients.
  • Remdesivir (3-day antiviral infusion) is restricted to patients who cannot receive Paxlovid and are at the highest-risk. Patients who cannot receive Paxlovid due to drug interactions and do not qualify for remdesivir should be evaluated for Lagevrio (molnupiravir) oral antiviral treatment.

Important: A patient’s primary provider still has clinical responsibility for all other care and follow-up. Providers will be notified when their patient has received COVID-19 treatment.
