Drive-up food distribution provides hundreds with healthy food
Date: 11/25/2025

Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Danforth’s Down Home Supermarket, United Insurance, the Kleinschmidt Group, and Good Shepherd Food Bank teamed up for a successful Drive-up Food Event at the hospital on November 21.
More than 230 bags of nonperishable food, 230 whole chickens, and 2,420 pounds of produce were given out to the community. Leftover food was distributed by the Pittsfield Food Pantry.
Cars lined up well before the event began, and volunteers worked efficiently to keep the line moving smoothly. The drive-up model allowed individual and families to receive food quickly and safety, while reducing barriers for those who face challenges with non-mobile pick-up locations. Attendees shared gratitude through the morning, thanking volunteers for holding the event.
“We’re grateful for the great turnout and for the dedication of our staff and volunteers,” says Randy Clark, Senior Vice President, Northern Light Health, and President, Northern Light Mayo, CA Dean, and Sebasticook Valley Hospitals. “This event shows what is possible when the community comes together to make a difference. We’re proud to have made it easier for families to access healthy food during the holiday season.”
