Welcome John Wironen, Physician Assistant

Date: 08/19/2021

Northern Light Primary Care is pleased to welcome John Wironen, PhD, PA-C, physician assistant to our Pittsfield practice. He joins our provider team of: Jean Antonucci, MD; Reynaldo Arceo, DO; Emily Cianchette, FNP; Donna Huff, PMHNP; Bob Schlager, MD; Heather Sevigny, FNP; and Amy Shears, LCSW.

John completed his medical training at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine and his undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts. He earned his doctorate degree in Biomaterials Engineering from the University of Florida. He has a background as an executive and in doing research in materials science, biomaterials, orthopedics, cardiology, and urology. He taught elementary and middle school for 15 years, ran a camp for children with diabetes, and was a Big Brother for 12 years. Married with three children, John is an amateur chef who loves to garden and has a passion for diabetes care, diet, and nutrition. He also enjoys woodworking, fishing, and boating.

John believes healthcare is built upon a trusting relationship between the provider and the patient. “Taking the time to get to know the patient as an individual (what they spend their days doing, what their home and family life is like, what their interests and goals are) often provides better information about their health than any test.”

John is welcoming new patients at our Pittsfield practice, located at 470 Somerset Avenue. Call 487.5154 to make an appointment.
