Drive-Up COVID-19 Testing Sites to Close Today
Date: 06/30/2021

Northern Light Inland Hospital in Waterville and Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield are announcing that our COVID-19 “Swab and Go” drive-up testing sites (located behind the hospitals) will close effective today, June 30. Starting July 1, testing will instead be offered at the hospitals’ outpatient labs and other care sites.
“We can take this step to close the mass testing sites because of everyone’s efforts to get vaccinated throughout the state,” said Terri Vieira, president of Inland Hospital and Sebasticook Valley Hospital. “Increased vaccinations mean more people are protected from COVID-19 and that’s led to a decreased need for testing. We are pleased to be able to move COVID-19 testing into our regular services at the hospital and other sites, rather than having to maintain the stand-alone drive-up sites. We know that with appropriate safety measures, like masking in our healthcare settings, that testing can be done safely in the clinic setting.”
