Mercy Hospital named to national list for patient experience

Healthgrades, which reviews over 3,000 hospitals nationwide annually, recently announced the recipients of its
2022 Outstanding Patient Experience Awards. Northern Light Mercy Hospital received the award this year, marking three consecutive years it has received the recognition.
“Our teams are consistently going the extra mile to ensure our patients get the care they need,” said Charlie Therrien, president of Mercy Hospital. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by so many at Mercy during the most challenging time in health care.”
According to Healthgrades, it evaluates performance by applying a scoring methodology to ten patient experience measures, using data collected from July 2020 to March 2021. Survey questions focus on patients’ perceptions of their care in the hospital, with topics including:
- Overall rating
- Recommendation to family and friends
- Communication with doctors
- Communication with nurses
- Responsiveness of hospital staff
- Communication about medicines
- Cleanliness
- Noise levels in patient rooms
- Discharge information
- Care transition
