IMG_3881-(1).JPGNorthern Light Mayo Hospital is pleased to welcome Rachel Koransky-Matson, DNP, FNP-C to its provider team. Rachel specializes in diabetes education and counseling. She is focused on helping diabetes patients live their healthiest possible lives.

“My practice is patient-focused. I start by finding out what my patients’ goals are, and then help them create a plan. Many patients know where they need to go but need help getting there. I want to be their partner in care,” she says.

Rachel earned Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Rachel is a resource for both patients and primary care providers. As a provider focused specifically on diabetes education, she can spend time with patients exploring nutrition, exercise, medication use, and behavioral needs.

A new Mainer, Rachel recently purchased a 77-acre farm where she lives with her husband, son, dogs, rabbits, goats, kittens, and guinea hens.

Rachel provides care at Northern Light Primary Care in Dover-Foxcroft and may expand her practice to other locations in the future. She also provides services through telehealth. Patients who would like to set up an appointment with her are encouraged to ask their primary care provider for a referral or call 207.564.4466.
