About us
Northern Light Continuing Care Mars Hill provides long-term care and rehabilitation services to 72 residents.
Our compassionate and professional staff is pleased to provide long-term care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to the people of northern Maine. We take great pride in our holistic approach, creating a plan that fits the unique needs of every resident, including the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of health.
Our resident’s health and happiness during their stay with us is of the utmost importance. Our team works tirelessly each and every day to ensure those entrusted in our care have the best possible experience.
We are ranked among the top facilities of our kind in the state, which is to the credit of the wonderful team of care providers and the special residents who call the Northern Light Continuing Care Mars Hill their home away from home. We invite you to visit us and see for yourself.
Our rehabilitation program allows residents to relearn activities of daily living, recover sooner, and regain the ability to care for themselves upon returning home. Our rehabilitation services help to bridge the gap between hospital and home.
We also care for residents who can no longer perform everyday tasks, such as eating, bathing, or getting dressed. We understand that losing independence due to illness or injury can be a very difficult adjustment. We work very hard to help ease the transition for our residents and their families through a supportive, team approach.
We go to great lengths to make our center feel like home to our residents. Through our Resident Activities Program, residents can enjoy many of the experiences that may have been part of their lives before their illness or injury, including a variety of social gatherings, off-site excursions, and educational programs.
We opened in 1962 and served as a full-service hospital until the early 1980s. In 1981, we joined with A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital to form The Aroostook Medical Center in 1981.
