Welcome Pediatrician Zainab Alam, MD, to Northern Light Primary Care - Concourse

Northern Light Inland Hospital is pleased to welcome Zainab Alam, MD, a pediatrician, to Northern Light Primary Care in downtown Waterville. Pediatric primary care is a new service in the practice and Dr. Alam is excited to help meet the healthcare needs of families with children in our community. She is welcoming new patients today with appointments scheduled by phone or through easy online scheduling.
Most recently, Dr. Alam was a Pediatric Resident Physician at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts. She earned her medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and completed her Graduate education at Lahore Grammar School in Lahore, Pakistan.
Dr. Alam says she became a pediatrician because, “There is no better way to become a more valued member of society than by taking care of others and helping them navigate their journey to optimize their physical health, and therefore their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Children are the future of the world we live in and having the chance to positively impact their lives is priceless.”
Dr. Alam’s services at the Concourse primary care practice will include:

routine care and check-ups for infants and children ages 0-18 years

vaccines

non-emergency medical care

physical exams for sports, camp, and school activities

coordination of specialty services for youth with special health care needs

screening and referral for services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy)

referral to community services for psychosocial support

coordination with school systems for early intervention and/or individualized learning plans, and more.
