Ongoing recruiting challenges for labor and delivery providers have made it necessary to take this step.
The decision to suspend a service like this is never easy - this decision was made after much thoughtful discussion and with careful consideration given to how to best care for expecting parents in these communities. Suspending this service allows us the time needed to design a new program that supports consistent access to high-quality prenatal care, labor, and delivery for the communities we serve, and that our patients expect and deserve.
Current Patients Who Are Expecting
Transitioning Care to Another Facility
Our Waterville team is working hard to reach out to all of our current patients to determine a transition plan to ensure that they can continue to receive the care they need from trusted colleagues at another birthing facility.
We are working closely with our colleagues at other facilities including Northern Light Health birthing centers, MaineGeneral Health, and Redington Fairview General Hospital to ensure that all of our expecting parents have the information and resources they need for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery.
Ensuring that all of our patients have access to high-quality, safe care is the priority for our team. If you have not had the opportunity to connect with a team member yet, please call the practice or send a message using the patient portal. We are working as quickly as we can, but we want to ensure that transition plan meet each individual’s needs and that takes time.
Childbirth Classes
Childbirth classes will not be offered during the service suspension. When you transition your care, your new birthing facility will provide resources to help you prepare for birth.
Emergency Medical Care During Pregnancy
If you have a medical emergency, even after our labor and delivery services are suspended, our emergency department is prepared to care for you.
