Harvey-McPherson honored with Hilton Leader Award

Congratulations to Lisa Harvey-McPherson, RN, MBA, MPPM, vice president of Government Relations, who was honored October 2, 2025, with the Northern Light Home Care and Hospice Hilton Leader Award at a breakfast reception held at the Portland Elks Lodge in South Portland.
“The award was based on leadership and advocacy in the home care space – nobody does that better than Lisa,” shared Suzanne Moreshead, RN, MBA, CHFP, FACHE, president of Northern Light Home and Hospice and senior vice president of Northern Light Health, Continuing Care.
Halsey Frank, State Representative and Senior Counsel for Senator Susan Collins, read a letter from Senator Collins who praised and thanked Lisa for her tireless home care and hospice advocacy work for the people of Maine.
“I cannot think of a more deserving recipient for the Hilton Leader Award for Home Care and Hospice leadership than Lisa Harvey-McPherson,” said Colleen Hilton, RN, former president of Northern Light Home Care and Hospice who presented the award. “Lisa has served as a mentor to me over the years and her tireless advocacy in both Washington and Augusta has benefitted the patients served by Northern Light Health but also by other agencies across Maine. Always at the heart of her advocacy work is the rich personal experience that Lisa has lived and worked over the years. Maine seniors have better access to home care and hospice due to Lisa’s leadership.” Hilton was the recipient of the first Leader Award, which was changed in her honor this year to the Hilton Leader Award.
A long-time Northern Light Health employee since 1998, Lisa is a tireless advocate for home care and hospice, dedicated to improving care for patients and families across Maine. Early in her nursing career, she served as a home care and hospice nurse. Since that time, she has served in key leadership roles at the state and national level, including board chair of the Home Care and Hospice Alliance of Maine and the Maine Hospice Counsel, and as a regional board member for the National Association for Home Care and Hospice.
In her current role at Northern Light Health, Lisa leads government relations and advocacy efforts at the Maine Legislature and with Maine’s Congressional delegation, working to advance policies that support compassionate, high-quality care. Always with Maine people at the heart of her mission, Lisa’s work has been recognized by OMNL Organization of Maine Nursing Leaders, the Home Care and Hospice Alliance, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
“I have carried all my patients in my heart, which is why I am so passionate about advocacy at the state and national level to ensure health care access, especially home care and hospice, to all our patients in Maine,” explained Lisa.
