proud to introduce new reserved parking for expectant mothers.
Making sure expectant moms can park close to an entrance, especially those juggling appointments solo or with a little one in tow, makes a real difference in how cared for they feel from the very first moment they arrive at the Medical Center. Look for this reserved parking to your right as you come down the drive toward the Medical Center, located in the Webber West parking lot.
This enhancement comes at a critical time for maternal health in Maine. In the past ten years, eleven birthing centers have closed across the state. While access to obstetric services remains a growing challenge, especially in rural access, Eastern Maine Medical Center remains steadfast in its mission to ensure high-quality, accessible care for families across the region.
"Simple changes can have profound impacts and this new reserved parking honors the experience of expectant mothers, reduces stress, and affirms that their time, comfort, and safety matter to us,” says Dalice Marriott, MD, chief of Obstetrics, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. “At a moment when access to care is dwindling, gestures like this signal our unwavering commitment to not just keeping pace with need but moving forward to meet it."
Eastern Maine Medical Center currently sees approximately 125 pregnant women daily at our Women’s Healthcare clinic and the practice is growing – evidence of both rising demand and our continued investment.
