2026 Youth Mental Health Summit

March 10, 2026

Gracie Theatre at Husson University, Bangor

In 2022, the Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment identified mental health as the top priority area in Penobscot County. Some of the findings include:

  • 32.5% of high school students reported feeling sad or hopeless for two or more weeks in a row
  • 21.1% of middle school students reported feeling sad or hopeless for two or more weeks in a row
  • 16.2% of high school students seriously considered suicide
  • 18.6% of middle school students seriously considered suicide
This summit is designed to give students skills, support, and community connections they can take back to their schools.

Join Northern Light Health for a free day of connection, learning, and practical tools to support student mental health and well-being. Featuring a keynote by Ivy Watts and workshops on resiliency, relationships, suicide prevention, coping skills, grief, substance use, and more. Lunch will be provided, and the event is free.
