At Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Structural Heart Program, your heart health is our number one priority. Our cardiologists, structural heart specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other specialists have joined forces to create a partnership approach to provide exceptional care focused on getting patients back to the lives they love.
 
Our Structural Heart team is made up of a multidisciplinary group of providers who work closely together to develop a comprehensive treatment strategy. The team consists of experts in interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, and advanced cardiac imaging. We use specialized noninvasive testing to determine if a patient requires an intervention to repair or replace their heart valve. While open surgery can’t always be avoided, we try to use minimally invasive, catheter-based interventions whenever possible.
