Do you or someone you love live alone?
Here in the heart of Maine, Northern Light Health's Caring Calls program stands as a beacon of connection and compassion. Since 1979, Caring Calls has provided a free, daily telephone check-in program for individuals who live alone anywhere in Maine. With Maine being home to the oldest population in the United States, many residents — especially older adults — benefit from the reassurance, safety, and social connection that a daily check helps provide.
Our trained volunteers brighten the days of participants by lending a friendly ear every weekday morning to offer conversation and companionship.
Program benefits include:
- Regular morning check-ins from our compassionate, trained volunteers to help ensure that if a participant experiences a medical issue, fall, or emergency, it is noticed quickly.
- Emotional support and friendly conversation at your comfort level - whether you want to chat or just listen, we are here for you!
- Peace of mind for family members living far away, knowing that someone is checking in with their loved one.
