Date: 01/09/2025

Northern Light CA Dean Hospital is proud to announce the recipients of its True North Trailblazer awards, an annual recognition that honors employees who exemplify a profound and impactful dedication to their patients and our community hospital.

“We’re proud to celebrate our True North Trailblazer honorees for their commitment to improving healthcare for our patients and community,” says Marie Vienneau, FACHE, president, Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals. “They consistently go above and beyond for their patients, support their co-workers, and make the hospital a better place for everyone. They set a very high standard for all to follow.”

CA Dean Hospital congratulates its True North Trailblazer honorees:

Anna Babiarz, PA-C | Family Medicine Practitioner
Shining Star Trailblazer Award

Anna is a tireless advocate who develops strong and meaningful relationships with her patients. She is kind, compassionate, and has a heart of gold. Anna spends quality time with her patients, even if time is running over, to ensure that they are being heard and that their concerns are addressed. If an issue arises and a patient is not able to make it into the office, she uses her administrative time to perform a home visit to be sure that their care is not affected. She has earned her patients’ trust by going above and beyond for them every day.

Mammography Team
Constellation Trailblazer Award

The Mammography Team at Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals has worked collaboratively to launch our highly successful, first-in-Maine Mobile Mammography Service. While reaching more patients in more places through mobile mammography, the team has also continued to maintain timely access to mammograms at the Mayo Hospital mammography office. The Mammography Team demonstrates teamwork, respect for one another, and a commitment to ensuring that every patient has the highest quality exam possible.

Angie Madore, MSOTR/L | Manager, Rehabilitation Services
Guiding the Way Trailblazer Award

A steady, compassionate leader and caregiver, Angie has grown and guided a robust therapy department that provides care at three locations. The breadth and depth of CA Dean Hospital’s therapy services may be unmatched by any small hospital in Maine thanks to Angie’s leadership. Angie consistently looks for efficient ways to improve the quality of care provided to patients. She finds gaps in care, develops strategies to address them, and puts plans into motion to improve access and patient outcomes.

Anna Webb, RN | Registered Nurse, Inpatient Care
Seeing the Individual Trailblazer Award

Anna is a strong leader and caregiver who works efficiently with others to provide top notch patient care. She demonstrates compassion for patients and coworkers through her actions, compassion, and words. Anna takes the time to learn about her patients and build trust. She addresses the whole patient rather than just the disease or ailment. She is willing to jump in and help wherever and whenever needed. Anna is trusted and respected by coworkers and patients thanks to her ability to understand and attend to their individual needs.

Jeri Gilbert, RN | Registered Nurse, Inpatient Care
Raising Quality Trailblazer Award

Jeri is an experienced and steady caregiver who always has an eye on quality while caring for our long term care patients. She goes above and beyond every day to provide patients on the Allen Family Wing with the highest quality of care. She routinely comes up with and shares ideas to improve care in the department to keep patients safe. She is an advocate for her patients, is solution-oriented, and is always willing to speak up to ensure that her patients are well cared for.

Jillian Lewis | Sonographer, Primary Care, Sangerville
Making Access Easy Trailblazer Award

Jillian is the force that keeps the x-ray/ultrasound department at Northern Light Primary Care, Sangerville going. The only radiology technician in the office, Jillian works very hard to meet the needs of every patient who comes her way. She maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate patients’ work schedules and adapts to fit in urgent tests. Even with many personal hurdles that have been placed in her path, Jill comes to work with a smile and a happy greeting for all. Thanks to Jillian, patients are always able to get exactly what they need, right when they need it.

By virtue of these local recognitions, CA Dean Hospital’s True North Trailblazers are nominated for the Northern Light Health statewide True North Awards. The statewide awards will be announced in January 2025.
