Joe Hiser, RN of Northern Light Acadia Hospital presented with DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is proud to announce that Joe Hiser, RN, has been named the recipientJoe Hiser, RN of the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award honors extraordinary nurses for the compassionate contributions they make every day going above and beyond expectations in science and sensitivity.

Joe, a nurse on the Adult Inpatient Unit at Northern Light Acadia Hospital, is a mentor to nursing students and newcomers to the profession. His unwavering commitment to patient care was highlighted by his nominator, a colleague, who shared a touching story:

"I overheard Joe comforting a patient who was experiencing significant struggles, anger, and frustration. With kindness and empathy, he validated her feelings, reassured her that he was there for her, and offered his assistance. As she calmed down, it was clear that Joe's compassionate care had a profound impact on her well-being."

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is honored to have such an exemplary nurse on staff and congratulates Joe on his well-deserved recognition.
