Justin Otis, MD
Dr. Justin Otis is a neuropsychiatrist new to Northern Light Health System. He arrived in Maine from Wisconsin where he led an interdisciplinary dementia clinic in neurology and established a busy neuropsychiatry practice.
Dr. Otis attended Saint John’s University and obtained an Applied Physics Degree and then worked briefly at the University of Iowa doing Medical Physics research before and during medical school at Creighton University. Tucson became his home for psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona where he served as a chief resident and completed a two-year elective in Integrative Medicine at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Otis attended the renowned Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry fellowship at the University of Colorado and received training in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation at the Marcus Institute for Brain Health. He has published several textbook chapters on sleep disorders, integrative medicine, and traumatic brain injury with colleagues from Arizona and Colorado.
Dr. Otis’ clinical interests including neuroimaging, as well as neuro-developmental and neurodegenerative conditions with a movement disorder such as Tourette’s, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, and many of the diseases marked by Fronto-temporal Lobar Degeneration. His professional interests include educating trainees, quality, and system design and implementation.
Outside of work Dr. Otis can be found playing hockey, camping, gardening, and running.
