Caroline Hollnagel, PhD

Dr. Hollnagel is a neuropsychologist, a specialist in the relationship between the central nervous system and behaviors. She completed her studies at Smith College, Washington University, and the University of California, San Francisco.

Her interests include dementia, the frontal lobe, awake neurosurgical cognitive mapping, brain injury, stroke, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She hopes to help refine diagnosis and intervention for these disorders.

Dr. Hollnagel has extensive teaching and supervisory experience with undergraduates, graduate and medical students, psychology fellows, psychiatry residents, and professional peers. She served as a subject matter expert for the State of California in developing the licensing exam for clinical psychologists.

Dr. Hollnagel enjoys speaking at support groups and has volunteered for depression screening, at school science fairs, and as a science mentor for high school students. She most recently put together a community education series at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center on topics ranging from attention deficit disorder to memory to caregiver stress.
