John Campbell, MDJohn J. Campbell III, MD, FANPA is the vice president and senior physician executive for Northern Light Acadia Hospital.

In his role, Dr. Campbell oversees care provided through the Northern Light Behavioral Health service line, strategic planning, program development, and continuous quality improvement

He is passionate about providing high value health care that achieves the quadruple aim: 

  • Improving patient experience​
  • Enhancing population health
  • Reducing healthcare costs
  • Improving the well-being of the healthcare team

As a leader, Dr. Campbell is past president of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, and is a member of the American Neuropsychiatric Association Leadership Council.

Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Dr. Campbell was the medical director of general hospital psychiatric services, Maine Medical Center.

Dr. Campbell became the vice president and senior physician executive in October 2017.
