Outstanding Preceptor Awards

The Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Medical Education Department is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Outstanding Preceptor Awards. We are recognizing these providers for their exceptional teaching, mentoring, and leadership of our 3rd year medical students from UNECOM. These preceptors have consistently and effectively contributed to the education and development of our student doctors, helping to bridge the gap between the classroom and the clinical setting.

For each specialty, students from each academic year have nominated the preceptor whom they feel most embodied the following attributes:
 
  • Demonstrates an enthusiasm and commitment to teaching
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative learning environment
  • Treats students, patients, and other professionals with respect and kindness
  • Is attentive, responsive, and available to provide appropriate support when necessary
  • Earns the respect of students; is considered an admirable role model and mentor
