Opioid Prescribing Requirement Toolkit

The Board of Licensure in Medicine, The Board of Osteopathic Licensure, and the Board of Nursing for Maine all require 3 hours of training regarding opioid prescribing every two years.

The Federal DEA has a one-time requirement of all prescribers to attest to having eight hours of training regarding opioid prescribing.  This occurs at either an initial application for DEA registration or when you renew your DEA registration after June 27, 2023.
