First Responders Honor Pittsfield Hospital Staff
Fire and rescue, police and other first responders honored healthcare workers at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital today in Pittsfield.
Fire departments from Newport, Pittsfield, Detroit, Plymouth, Etna, Burnham, and Corinna, and the Pittsfield Police department paraded through the hospital campus this morning with lights flashing to show their support for hospital staff during the COVID pandemic. They also made signs and expressed their gratitude as staff lined the front entrance to take in all the excitement.
“We just wanted staff to know how much they mean to us, our families and everyone in the communities we all serve,” said Jeff Chretien, chief of the Newport Fire department. “They work long, hard hours, and they think of others first. We wanted to give them a pat on the back and let them know how much they are appreciated.”
Terri Vieira, president of Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital noted, “The staff was deeply touched by the show of support and solidarity. We work together with our first responders and their recognition during these tough times is very meaningful. Thank you for taking the time to visit us today in this very special way.”
