Annual Breast Cancer Walk Raises Awareness and Support for Pittsfield Community
On Saturday, October 19 people of all ages will come together at the MCI Football Field in Pittsfield for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. This year’s walk is hitting an important milestone of 25 years, and every dollar raised at the walk will support care provided at Northern Light Women’s Health in Pittsfield.
The non-competitive walk is open to people of all ages, and families and groups are welcome. Participants may join a team or register as individuals and can choose between one and two-mile walk routes. A virtual participation option is available for those who are unable to attend the event but wish to support Northern Light Women’s Health.
Northern Light Women’s Health offers digital mammography, breast ultrasound, digital bone density (osteoporosis) screening, breast biopsies, lymphedema therapy, and other services in a private setting. Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s advanced 3D mammography technology, which was purchased with donor funds, helps doctors detect and diagnose cancer earlier and more accurately. SVH is a certified Pink Ribbon Facility, which means that patients can expect to have the most comfortable mammography experience possible.
