Cardiovascular Care

Cardiology is the branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The field is commonly divided in the branches of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Physicians specializing in this field of medicine are called cardiologists.

Our cardiology team sees patients with atherosclerosis, restenosis, coronary heart disease (ischemic heart disease, coronary artery disease, etc.), acute coronary syndrome, angina, or have encountered a myocardial infarction (or heart attack).

Some of our patients who have experienced a heart attack or have had heart surgery are referred to our Rehabilitation Services department where they meet regularly with a cardiac rehabilitation nurse to slowly and healthfully strengthen their heart muscles so that they can resume life in the most healthy way possible – and perhaps avoid heart problems in the future.
