Pine Tree Hospice honors life and offers comfort with dignity to people of any age living with a progressive life-limiting illness. Pine Tree Hospice educates and supports its volunteers and staff to maintain a high standard of care, and responds to caregiver, family and community needs for continued bereavement support.
Hospice care is a unique philosophy and team approach to care provided to people in the final phase of their lives. It emphasizes enhancing the quality of life and preserves a sense of dignity while providing palliative comfort care. Hospice is not a place. It is a family-centered effort that provides support and care for the whole family during the process of dying and bereavement. Trained volunteers are key team members who work along with healthcare professionals to provide support. Hospice strengthens the individual’s role in making decisions about end of life care. Pine Tree Hospice is proud to be one of less than 70 volunteer hospice programs in the United States.
