Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Chefs’ Gala “Spring Block Party” a Success
On April 27, more than 425 guests gathered at the Ramada Inn for Ellsworth’s hottest block party known as the Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital’s Chefs’ Gala, sponsored by Camden National Bank. This year’s event raised more than $60,000 to support breast care services at the hospital.
Proceeds from the Chefs’ Gala fund improvements to breast care services as well as mammography scholarships for those who lack insurance or have high deductibles.
“We rely on the community’s support to maintain and improve our breast care services,” says John Ronan, MBA, FACHE, president, Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital. “The Chefs’ Gala is an important funding source. Every dollar raised at the event stays right here in Ellsworth to support patient care.”
This year’s street party theme was incredibly popular with guests, who enjoyed an array of bistro-style bites and a raw bar provided by Chip Butterwick of Chipper’s Restaurant & Catering and a team of local chefs and restaurants including Aroma Joe’s, Bar Harbor Catering, Big Cat’s Catering, Dorr Lobster, Dragon Fire Pizza, Finn’s Irish Pub, Flexit Café & Bakery, Governor’s, The Grand, Nostrano-Frankie’s BBQ, Momo’s Cheesecakes, Morton’s Moo Ice Cream, Provender Kitchen & Bar, and The Turtle. Five-piece band Wavelength packed the dance floor with a mix of music that spanned several decades.
