Estate Planning Is Not Just About Taxes - Why You Still Need to Do It
Ellsworth, Maine – (August 26, 2018) – Maine Coast Hospital Foundation is pleased to partner with Jones, Kuriloff, & Sargent, LLC to hold a free seminar, “Estate planning is not just about taxes: why you still need to do it,” on Thursday, September 13, from 10 am to noon at the hospital’s Board Room (Door C) at 50 Union Street in Ellsworth. The seminar, which will cover topics relevant for estates of all sizes, will be presented by attorneys Jeffrey W. Jones, Rebecca J. Sargent, and Catherine Haynes Fenton.
Recent changes in state and federal tax law mean that most people no longer need to do estate tax
planning. This is great, but some people have made the mistake of concluding that it is no longer necessary to do any
estate planning. At this seminar, the attorneys will review the many estate planning topics or needs that were not affected by the tax law changes and discuss why planning in these areas is still important. Wills, powers of attorneys, healthcare directives, and trusts are all on the agenda. Specific questions are encouraged. The goal of this session is to provide answers that will allow each participant to determine his or her own estate planning needs.
This seminar has been offered for more than 20 years and is consistently highly recommended by former attendees. This event is the first in a four-part series being offered in September and October in support of Maine Coast Hospital Foundation’s goal to encourage members of our community to fully understand the benefits of creating a well-crafted estate plan. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited. To reserve your seat, please call 664-5548.
