NORTHERN LIGHT HEALTH SUPPORTS PRICE TRANSPARENCY
Hospitals are required to publicize a list of their standard charges online. Health care entities bill for services utilizing Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Code System (HCPCS) which is a listing of descriptive terms and identifying codes for reporting medical services and procedures developed by the American Medical Association. The purpose of the terminology is to provide a uniform language that will accurately describe medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, and will thereby provide an effective means for reliable nationwide communication among physicians, patients, and third parties however not all items and services have a corresponding CPT/HCPCS code.
The accompanying files contain Northern Light Inland Hospital standard charges for all items and services provided by the hospital. Any one medical service can include multiple CPT and HCPCS codes with price differences therefore to obtain an estimate of expected costs for a specific service, please contact a Financial Counselor at (207) 861-3304 or (207)861-6170.
You can obtain additional estimates of costs associated with health care services and procedures from Maine Health Data Organization’s CompareMaine Website: http://www.comparemaine.org/
