Community Message from Northern Light Inland Hospital President
A message to our community from Terri Vieira, president of Northern Light Inland Hospital:
First, a heartfelt thank you for your support of our promise to make healthcare work in good times and during these more trying times. Rest assured that our dedicated staff is focused on caring for and ensuring the safety of our communities today and every day. This is evident through the detailed preparations we are making to be ready for a potential surge in COVID-19 cases that could sweep across our state. This includes prioritizing the privacy of every patient we serve, no matter the circumstance.
While Northern Light Health is taking measures to promote the safety and health of our communities, we all need your help. You can make a significant difference by abiding by Governor Mills' directive today to stay at home at all times unless for an essential job or personal reason, such as obtaining food, medicine, or healthcare. Minimizing your exposure to others could save someone’s life. Be sure to practice good physical social distancing and wash your hands often for at least 40 seconds.
And, stay up to date through informed sources. We have created a COVID-19 page on our website to provide you with news and information, and resources that will help you understand how to prevent the spread of the virus should you, or a loved one, experience symptoms. Other good resources for information about COVID-19 include the US CDC, the Maine State CDC, and the World Health Organization.
Together we will get through this, and if you need us, we will be here. I look forward to getting out and meeting more of you in the greater Waterville area as soon as COVID-19 is not a threat.
