Annual May Day Auction to Support Resident Care at Lakewood May 9
Round Pond and Belgrade are just a couple places you could get away to by attending the 2019 May Day Auction to benefit Northern Light Continuing Care - Lakewood on the Inland Hospital campus. The evening filled with excitement and laughs is scheduled for Thursday, May 9 from 6-8 pm at Lakewood.
Proceeds from the auction fund Lakewood residents’ overnight summer trips to Belfast, where they are able to take in the warm breezes and enjoy the beautiful views of the Maine coast. A portion of the money raised also supports the Residents Activity Endowment Fund and other needs at Lakewood.
Marie Cormier and her daughter Karen undoubtedly are the highlight of the evening showcasing their entertaining and energetic personalities while they auction off various donated items, one of which is a Cabbage Island clambake for two, which includes a scenic tour of Boothbay Harbor and ends with a succulent feast of Maine lobsters and clams. Other items include handmade jewelry with sea glass from Antarctica, yoga classes, and a Kitchen Aid mixer.
“I am passionate about this cause because sooner or later someone we love may need the services provided by Lakewood. It’s a good reason to tap into the good that is in all of us. It’s fun and entertaining, and what Lakewood provides their residents is sacred,” says Marie.
There’s no cost to attend – just show up and get ready for an evening you’re sure to remember! For more information, please call 207.873.5125.
