Tee Off for Miracles at the 2018 EMHS Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Golf Classic

Date: 05/09/2018

Bangor, Maine – (May 7, 2018) – Registration is now open for the 2018 EMHS Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Golf Classic, scheduled for Friday, June 15 at Hermon Meadow Golf Club. All proceeds from the tournament stay in Maine to provide caregivers at EMHS hospitals with the tools and support they need to care for more than 70,000 children each year.
“Participating in the golf tournament every year is a small but fun way to show my appreciation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and our community donors for all that they do for our pediatric patients here at Acadia Hospital,” says Chris McLaughlin, LCSW, associate vice president, Community and Pediatric Services, Acadia Hospital. “These funds are critical to the services we provide to youth and families in our care. We have been able to offer a wide variety of treatment interventions including adventure-based counseling on our high ropes course, pet therapy with our robotic seals, and yoga sessions with a certified instructor. Without Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals funding for these activities, we would simply not be able to offer them to our kids.”
Last year, contributions to EMHS Foundation Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals funded Acadia Hospital’s CARES Youth Suicide Prevention Video Series, a fetal heart monitoring system at Inland Hospital, a neonatal transport incubator at Eastern Maine Medical Center, a walker that helps pediatric patients get on their feet safely and begin walking on their own at The Aroostook Medical Center, and other equipment.
“EMHS hospitals rely on the community’s support to provide both the routine and highly specialized care Maine kids and families deserve,” says Kelly Pearson, director, EMHS Foundation Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Golfers in this tournament take pride in helping kids, and they always have a great time.”
The $100 per person registration fee covers green fees, cart rental, breakfast, snacks, and lunch after the tournament. The day begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 am and wraps up with an award ceremony and silent auction. Prizes are awarded for first, second, third net and first gross.
Tournament sponsorships are also available. To register for the tournament and to learn more, visit or call 207.973.5055.
