Walmart and Sam’s Club

Walmart locations in Bangor, Brewer, Calais, Ellsworth, Houlton, Lincoln, Palmyra, Presque Isle and Skowhegan, along with the Sam’s Club in Bangor have long been strong supporters of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Locally, from Skowhegan to Presque Isle, through customer support by donating $1 at the register, Walmart and Sam’s Club have raised more than $3 million to help local hospitals help local kids.

Rite Aid now owned by Walgreens

Since 1994, Rite Aid stores throughout Aroostook Piscataquis, Somerset, Penobscot, Waldo, Hancock and Washington Counties have raised money through the sale of miracle balloons to support Northern Light hospitals across Maine in helping local kids. In 2018, Rite Aid, now owned by Walgreens, raised more than $20,000 to benefit Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Log A Load for Maine Kids

The logging and wood supplying industry has long been a huge supporter of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Initially, the goal was to encourage loggers and wood suppliers to donate the value of a load of logs to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Today, Log A Load for Maine Kids has grown and now consists of several local events, including the annual Log a Load for Maine Kids Dinner and Auction and the Northern Maine Log A Load for Maine Kids Golf Tournament in Lincoln.

Circle K

Nationally, Circle K has been a supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 2003, and they’ve been a proud partner in Maine since 2010. Store managers and their teams create a fun and energy filled three-week campaign with their customers where they raise funds by encouraging customers to purchase $1 or $5 miracle balloons. Last year, Circle K locations in Maine raised more than $44,000 to help local hospitals help local kids.

Credit Union for Kids – Bangor Area Chapter

Credit Union for Kids has been a proud sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1996. Each May, the Bangor area chapter hosts their annual dinner and auction to raise funds for Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In 2018, the Bangor chapter raised $35,000, and since 2000, they’ve raised more than $500,000 to help support new facilities, equipment, research programs, patient services, special patient needs, and health education programs for kids throughout central, eastern, and northern Maine.

Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen has been a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1984. From collecting customers’ change to selling miracle balloons and holding special events, Dairy Queen is giving back to the communities in which it does business. And, each August, Dairy Queen hosts “Miracle Treat Day.” On Miracle Treat Day, Dairy Queen donates the proceeds from every Blizzard® sold to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Local Dairy Queens raised $9,000 in 2018.

Irving Oil’s Fuel the Care

Since 2002, Irving Oil’s Fuel the Care program has provided help and hope to more than 50,000 families in central, eastern, and northern Maine. The program provides free fuel to parents to help cover travel to and from hospital visits, allowing parents to focus on what’s most important – their child’s health.
