“A Toast to the Times” Auxiliary to Host 125th Anniversary Gala
Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Auxiliary will host “A Toast to the Times” gala celebration in honor of its 125th
anniversary on Saturday, November 10 at Bangor Arts Exchange. The Auxiliary invites you to raise a glass to the group’s storied past and its exciting future with an evening of delicious hors d’oeuvres, festive beverages, music, magic, and special auctions.
In 1893, with the shared goal of supporting healthcare in their community, five Bangor women organized what was known as the “Bangor General Hospital Women’s Hospital Aid Society.” Much has changed in the one hundred twenty-five years since, but the Auxiliary’s commitment to serving the hospital and the community has remained steadfast. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has raised more than $3.6 million, supporting services like pediatric, neonatal, cardiac, and cancer care as well as nursing scholarships.
“From the very beginning, the Auxiliary has supported the hospital’s mission by raising money for the programs, services, and technology needed to care for some of the most vulnerable among us and has served as a liaison between the hospital and the community, and the entire Eastern Maine Medical Center team is grateful,” says Donna Russell-Cook, FACHE, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center president.
“A Toast to the Times” will be held Saturday, November 10 from 6 to 10 pm at Bangor Arts Exchange. The cost to attend is $50 per person and space is limited. Reservations can be purchased by phone at 973-5055 or online at www.emmcauxiliary.org
