President and CEO of Northern Light Health
On April 1, 2020 Tim Dentry became president and CEO of Northern Light Health, taking the reins from M. Michelle Hood, who had served in the position since 2006.
Tim, who joined Northern Light Health as chief operating officer in 2016, brings a wealth of experience in administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of the system and member organizations. In addition to his chief operating officer duties, he also served as interim president of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for a brief period.
Since he joined Northern Light Health, Tim’s reassuring and person-focused leadership style has enabled him to help leverage the expertise and commitment of the system’s nearly 13,000 employees as they provide integrated healthcare uniquely tailored to each patient throughout Maine. His willingness to roll up his sleeves and address challenges head-on resonates with Maine’s resilient culture.
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Tim focused on international health delivery improvement, from Addis Ababa to Abu Dhabi, with institutional backing from Yale University and Johns Hopkins Medicine. This resulted in raising the standards of healthcare for large communities. In the United States, Tim has held executive positions with success in growing market presence, new service development, and physician and health system partnerships.
Tim is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland’s MBA and Bachelor of Science programs, as well as a Fellow in International Health from Yale University.
