“We offer this event each year in memory of our dad, who was such an outdoor enthusiast.  When we were kids, he would always bring us and our friends out for adventures in the snow,” recalls Steve Towle of Easton.  “Our family grew up with a love of the outdoors, particularly during winter, and what better way to share his legacy than to offer an event like this for the community.”

Northern Light AR Gould Hospital in Presque Isle had been a sponsor of this event in the past and is proud to be back on board as lead sponsor this year.

“Events like this are just what we want to be supporting,” says Jamie Guerrette, community health specialist at the hospital.  “We are committed to promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles in our region.  That’s why we commit time and resources to our Fit & Fun program, hosting our own activities as well as collaborating with others, such as the Towles and Nordic Heritage, who are already putting on great events.”

Registration for the Himie Towle Memorial Frolic takes place on Saturday, March 2, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Nordic, with activities getting underway at noon.  The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youth, and $20 for families.  Registration includes lunch and Frolic freebies for participants.
