Mental Health Is Essential To Overall Health And Well-Being

Date: 04/29/2019

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
An estimated 60% of people in need of mental health care will not seek treatment in a given year. Unlike the response to a medical illness, mental illness is often considered a health issue that can wait, that doesn’t need active treatment, or is merely a sign of weakness. It’s time to erase the stigma.

Finding a reason to laugh, going for a walk, meditating, playing with a pet, or working from home once a week can go a long way in making you both physically and mentally healthy. Living a healthy lifestyle may not be easy but can be achieved by gradually making small changes and building on those successes.

Mental illness impacts all our lives. We are affected directly and indirectly every day.
