Childbirth Education Classes

Congratulations on this exciting time as you prepare to welcome your little one into the world! We are so thrilled to be part of this special journey with you. As you approach the big day, we want to provide you with the knowledge, support, and tools you need to feel confident and empowered in your childbirth and parenting experience.

Each of our classes below are offered monthly. Most expectant parents find that registering for a class during the 34-36th week of pregnancy allows for the best learning experience.

  • The birth journey class is for expectant parents who are seeking information about labor, birth, coping skills/relaxation ideas, including a detailed tour of a birthing room.
  • The breast connection class provides information on the benefits of breast/chest feeding and providing human milk, milk production, positioning and latching techniques, how to know your baby is getting enough, and more.
  • The infant safety class covers a wide range of topics, including safe sleep practices, infant choking prevention, basic infant CPR, car seat safety, and how to create a childproof home environment.
  • The sibling class, for children ages 3 to 8, provides expectant parents and their young child(ren) the opportunity to become more familiar with The Birthplace and prepares them for the new baby’s arrival.
  • The grandparent class covers current labor practices, hospital procedures, how to offer emotional and physical support to new parents, the importance of bonding with the newborn, newborn care, and how to navigate changes in family dynamics.
