||POSITION SUMMARY: The Registration Review Coordinator is responsible for correctly charging observation patients. S/he is responsible for maintaining monthly statistical information on observation patients which is given to the Director of Access Management, Administrator for Clinical Information, and appropriate Department Heads. The Registration Review Coordinator is the liaison for the affiliated hospitals when dealing with Billing Systems errors. The Registration Review Coordinator will monitor and work closely with Directors, Department Heads, and Managers of the affiliated hospitals to ensure compliance when using the Registration and billing systems. The Registration Review Coordinator must have a strong understanding of the multiple computer systems and the integration of the systems in order to troubleshoot issues as they arise. S/he will be required to analyze various polices and procedures and make recommendations for changes to the Manager and the Director of Access Management. The Registration Review Coordinator will also work closely with the Preadmission Review Coordinators and Insurance Verification Representatives to ensure accurate and timely billing of current accounts and to update internal databases for future registrations. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates degree or other technical college education or the equivalent in work experience and continuing education. Medical Terminology 1 course completion. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-2 years in a medical setting; 1-2 years work experience with personal computers and customer service; 1-2 years in Registration or Patient Account Services; experience with computerized registration systems and its integration with hospital operations and finance. OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: Verbal and written aptitude for adequate communication with the general public, physicians, physician office staff, Registration staff, and other healthcare professionals. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with others and to work independently without direct supervision. Must exhibit a caring attitude toward patients, co-workers, and other customers. Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully. Position requires close attention to detail. Must present in a professional manner. Typing skills of 35 wpm with a general working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Access, and Word. High regard for confidentiality; Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position entails extensive customer service and phone utilization; visual and auditory acuity, finger-wrist repetitive motion, and utilization of a computer/keyboard. Ability to lift heavy boxes of paper. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Seated for long periods of time; standing, walking; considerable amount of work on the telephone; work in a pleasant office environment with exposure to the public. High noise level due to multiple phones, conversations, public, and overhead paging.
