INFORMATIONAL POSTING-Beacon Position
The Business Manager is responsible for an array of duties tied to the financial operations, business services, contract management, regulatory filings, and strategies of Beacon Health and Beacon Direct. This includes, but is not limited to, developing the annual operating budgets and forecasts for Beacon Health, Beacon Direct the Northern Light Employee Health Plan; monitoring service contracts for Wellness Services, Population Health agreements; and other direct to employer services; analyzing business opportunities and monitoring the financial operations of Beacon Health. In conjunction with the VP of Finance, this role will perform financial analysis on initiatives as assigned by Beacon Health leaders. In addition, the Business Manager will be the primary contact with the Home Office Finance and Accounting function.
The Business Manager must be strong in analytics and have well-developed written and verbal communication skills. The Business Manager must be able to work independently with minimal oversight and should possess personal computer proficiency, a commitment to high quality customer service and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. The Business Manager must have a working knowledge of financial accounting and reporting. The Business Manager must have a high degree of honesty and professionalism and possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop and foster relationships with various levels of management.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare/insurance, business, finance or related field required.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial management experience required.
5-7 years of healthcare or health insurance experience preferred
Experience developing budgets, forecasts and analyzing business opportunities required.
Basic knowledge of health plan operations including claims handling, procedures, agency management systems and applicable insurance laws/codes a plus preferred.
Customer service experience strongly preferred.
May require occasional evening and weekend work hours. Independent travel to sites throughout the system and surrounding communities is required. Must have valid drivers' license and reliable transportation. Must be willing to accept occasional overnight travel assignments.
Flexibility, dexterity, visual acuity, hearing acuity. Able to work sitting at work station, using a keyboard, working in front of a video display monitor and answering the phone most of the day. Moderate walking throughout the facility. Light lifting of files and manuals, some bending to file.
